Pride is a celebration of LGBTIQA+ identity, community, and resilience. It began as a movement for visibility and equal rights, and today it's marked around the world through gatherings, festivals, and events that celebrate diversity while raising awareness of the challenges LGBTIQA+ people still face.
For the LGBTIQA+ community of Sri Lanka's Eastern Province, Eastern Pride is more than a festival — it's a rare, safe space to be seen, to connect, and to celebrate who we are together. Organized by ANICHCHAM, it brings community members, allies, and supporters together through cultural programs, charitable giving (Dansal), and shared experiences that build solidarity and pride in our identities.
